Quality & sustainability
For us, quality means creating products that fulfil the needs of our customers and provide them with reliable support. Sustainability stands for the responsible use of resources in order to protect the environment and provide future generations with a future worth living. Social responsibility is an essential part of this, ensuring that we act fairly and responsibly - for people and nature.
Quality
Our company ensures that all legal requirements are met. To this end, we work closely with recognised and accredited testing institutes in Germany and in the sourcing countries. Before the goods leave production, they are additionally tested by our own quality control (QC) department.
We focus on robust and functional worktops, as these are workbenches and not kitchen worktops. If you still prefer a higher quality surface, we recommend sanding and oiling the wooden worktop. The result may not be as hard and hardwearing as beech, but the quality of the surface can be significantly improved. Should a problem nevertheless occur, we will of course offer a replacement (see also our service section).Sustainability
Our wood products either come from the European Union or are FSC-certified in the case of non-European origins. We take care to use only legal wood and completely avoid tropical woods.
As we ship many of our products online, we face the challenge of finding the right amount of packaging, especially for heavy items such as workbenches: On the one hand, we want to ensure the best possible protection during transport; on the other hand, we endeavour to reduce packaging material. Finding the right balance is an ongoing process and we are constantly working to optimise it. Sometimes we get feedback that we have either used too much or too little packaging - a balancing act that is unfortunately unavoidable if you want to act responsiblySocial responsibility
Social responsibility is a central component of our value-orientated corporate management and a key factor for sustainable success. We respect and support internationally recognised human rights and are in constant dialogue with our suppliers to ensure that our products do not contain any raw materials from conflict regions.
Compliance with the ban on child and forced labour is a matter of course for us. All work must be voluntary and employees should have the opportunity to terminate their work or employment relationship at any time. Discrimination in any form is not permitted - be it on the basis of gender, origin, religion, political conviction, skin colour, disability, age, pregnancy or sexual orientation. We promote equal opportunities and respect the personal dignity, privacy and personal rights of every individual.
We also respect the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. As a member of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (amfori BSCI), we are committed to the continuous improvement of social standards in supplier countries and undertake to comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct - for minimum social standards and responsible business practices.
